Guest speaker Phil Vedova presented an insightful and entertaining workshop entitled "Spiritual Secrets of Communication" attended by over 40 members of the Minnesota community of Science of Spirituality. During the first half of the workshop, Vedova eloquently highlighted the different types of communications we can have, and the need to strive for good communications with others, which in turn enables us to focus better during our meditations.
Deeply embedded in the teachings of the saints and mystics, the workshop emphasized the importance of humility, in order to have a successful communication.
In the second half of the workshop, Vedova conveyed, through communication exercises, the power of mental concentration and focus, in enabling a good communication. Participants also learned to develop listening skills, and to be present during a conversation. Above all, the workshop emphasized the need to strive to see God in all around us. If we do, our communications will inevitably become more loving and non-violent. And this will lead to better meditations and speed up our spiritual progress toward our True Home. This is the message of the saints. The workshop ended with a short meditation session, and cake-cutting, to celebrate.
In all, the weekend was a wonderful success, filled with fun and spiritual gems.
