Science of Spirituality participated at Minnesota IndiaFest 09

IndiaFest 2009 was a first of its kind for the Indian Community in Minnesota. Organized by the Indian Association of Minnesota it was held at Lake Phalen Park, the renowned location for Dragon Fest.. People from all walks of life attended the festival and enjoyed the cultural displays and variety of foods from different parts of India. Science of Spirituality (SOS) satsang was one of the major participants of the event. 23 children from the SOS satsang presented a beautiful rendition of the song "O Paalan Hare".- a devotional song representing the true oneness of all creation and of the Divine. Children had been practicing this song for many weeks and were proud to be on the stage. Another SOS highlight was its expo booth. SOS had a unique booth, with much information on spirituality and meditation. The most unique thing about the booth was the on-site meditation room/canopy. Volunteers offered to teach visitors the simple meditation technique on the spot, in addition to explaining the conceptual importance of meditation. The room was equipped with multiple laptops, running interactive Q&A. Specific questions on spirituality were presented as options that the participants could choose on this interactive screen. Video clips of Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj were added, to answer the specific questions. Participants were also given the option to run pre-recorded meditation instructions and follow along for a few minutes. They were provided noise-cancellation ear protection to eliminate background noise. Around 20-25 people learned about meditation and meditated during the 5 hrs of the event. Many others took information on many SOS programs in the Twin Cities area. An introductory meditation workshop has been scheduled for September 26th, at Wescott Library in Eagan to provide more detailed information on meditation on the Inner light to new and old seekers.
